Reach out to every non-Christian that you can with compassion and kindness. Be ready to share the gospel with them. But guard yourself against very close emotional relationships with them in order to keep your testimony pure. "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." (Proverbs 4:23)
What does he mean with ''in order to keep your testimony pure'' i also heard people talk about being a ''witness''

It means don't be a hypocrite-be a good Christian in order to not make people doubt what G-d has done in your life. You know "bad company spoils good character", so you love people in the world without letting them get too close as to spoil the fruitof the the Spirit in your life and make you fall back into a sinful lifestyle. "Guard your heart" means be careful about what you allow into your heart, mind, soul and spirit.
