I am looking for a recipe to make cinnamon rolls or something similar out of hot dog buns...?
I have 2 cases of hot dog buns. I was looking for a recipe to make cinnamon rolls or something similar out of all the hot dog buns I have before they spoil.
You can freeze hot dog buns. Or you could use them to make bread pudding. Just use the buns instead of bread.
You could also use it to make a breakfast casserole. Here's a recipe I use.
Breakfast Sausage Casserole
1 lb. sausage
6 slices white bread
butter/margarine
3/4 to 1 lb. grated cheese (preferably cheddar)
4 eggs slightly beaten
2 cups milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp dry mustard
Fry sausage and drain.
Butter one side of bread and place evenly in bottom of well-greased 9x13" pan.
Sprinkle cheese evenly over bread.
Combine beaten eggs, milk, salt, and mustard and pour over bread.
Sprinkle sausage over top.
Cover and refrigerate overnight or at least 8 hours.
The next morning, bake covered at 325 degrees for 1 hour, uncover and bake 15 minutes longer.
Instead of using bread, take your hot dog buns and tear them into chunks and layer the bottom of the casserole dish or split them and lay them across the dish. Don't worry about buttering it. As long as you spray the bottom of the casserole dish, you'll be fine.
